Today, during his own press conference, Nintendo announced plans for the creation of games for smartphones with all the famous characters of his universe. This company will help the Japanese publisher of mobile games DeNA.
Representatives of the company noted that in the course of this collaboration will be released completely new game titles for Nintendo, but not ports of existing projects with the 3DS and Wii U.
"To ensure a high quality gaming experience that users expect from Nintendo and cooperation DeNA, mobile will be issued only new and original and optimized games, not the console ports Wii U or portable system Nintendo 3DS" - said DeNA.
Both companies promise to release cross-platform gaming service that will be available on smartphones, tablets, PCs and all devices Nintendo. Release service is scheduled for autumn this year. It was also announced development of a new game system, codenamed "NX", but Nintendo does not hurry to share details about the mysterious new product.
In the course of this cooperation Nintendo will acquire a 10% stake DeNA, and DeNA buys 1.24% stake Nintendo.
